The Tacoma Stars are officially back in action carrying on the legacy started in the 1980s. Saturday, January 2, the Tacoma Stars packed the Soccer Center with more than 300 fans for their match against the Wenatchee Fire. With the debut of 17-year-old Derek Johnson and an amazing performance by goalkeeper Chris Kintz, the Stars brought the house down beating the Wenatchee Fire 11-2.
The 2009/2010 PASL (Premier Arena Soccer League) is shaping up to bring fans an exciting season of arena soccer. The Tacoma Stars have won their first three regular season games and are poised to deliver more wins as they match up against fellow Washington teams, Bellingham and Snohomish in the weeks to come.
As their season progresses the Tacoma Stars are reviving arena soccer in Tacoma in a fun, family-centered environment. January 16 the Stars host Prince George for their second pro game of the season. January 16 is Retro Night and features a dance contest hosted by Gotta Dance Productions, offering fans an opportunity to win a $50.00 gift certificate to Masa in Tacoma. Game time is 7:00 pm.
